Camping at Exmouth
Sun Smart, shade and hydrate
During April, the weather in Exmouth can still be warm, with temperatures averaging between 20 and 33 degrees. Here’s our tips to help you keep cool and comfortable on a warm Exmouth day and night.
- Drink cool water. An insulated drink bottle, such as a Yeti, with cold water will help you stay hydrated.
- Wear a wide-brimmed hat. Choose a hat that can get wet to keep you shaded while swimming.
- Stay out of the heat during the middle of the day. Check UV ratings using an app such as WillyWeather.
- Search for shade. If you intend to camp, consider adding shade, such as gazebos, to your setup. Shelters and beach umbrellas can be used both on and off the beach.
- Slip, slop, slap, sleep, slide. Use a high-quality sunscreen and apply it often, as directed.

While you’re in Exmouth, make sure to spend some time exploring the Cape Range National Park. The town centre has two IGA shopping centres, a chemist, and local shops for all of your daily needs.
